FAQ

  • When will I receive my race pack?

    No information is sent out in the post for this race. All race numbers and timing chips are collected on the morning of the race, simply make a note of your race number and head to the appropriate collection desk. Collection desks will be open from 08:00am at Outwood Academy Portland. Please follow the clearly marked one way system in operation to avoid congestion inside the school.

  • Where can I park?

    For parking locations please click here. There is NO parking at Outwood Academy Portland.  It is your responsibility to get to the race on time. Please plan your journey before you set off and whatever mode of transport you use, allow extra time for delays or congestion. We suggest you aim to arrive at the event venue where the race starts no later than 09.00. to avoid peak time queues.  We suggest you familiarise yourself with the car parks around Worksop and have a contingency in place in case your chosen car park is full.  Where possible, please car share.   Please do not use the postcode for Outwood Academy in your sat nav or attempt to park there as you will be turned away. No parking is available at the school for runners or fun runners.  If street parking, please be courteous to residents and do not block driveways or park across corners.

  • Will there be a secure baggage drop facility?

    Runners are able to leave their baggage within the Charity Baggage Area prior to the race beginning. It will be clearly signed. Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice will be very grateful if you are able to make a small donation as you drop off/pick up your bag.  Please expect to queue to drop/collect your baggage during peak times.  Please ensure you have everything you need before dropping your bag as reclaiming it again before the start of the race causes delays.  Please attach the tear off strip on your race number to your bag before handing it in.  You MUST produce your race number to retrieve your bag after the race.

  • What if I can no longer take part?

  • Is there a closing date and can I enter on the day?

    The closing date for all half marathon entries is October 21st at 11pm, or earlier if the entry limit of 3,000 has already been reached.  There will be NO half marathon entries on the day. Entries on the day will be for the fun run only.

  • Can I wear headphones?

    We strongly advise against wearing headphones or using ipods/smartphones etc during the race. Runners do so at their own risk. If you choose to use such equipment, we please ask that you be vigilant at all times and to please turn the devices off before the start of the race so that you are able to hear any announcements.

  • Is there an entry limit for the half marathon?

    Yes, this race is limited to 3,000 entries. Entries will close at 11pm on October 21st, or earlier if the limit has already been reached.

  • Do I need to buy a separate entry for the fun run if I am accompanying a child?

    No, you only need to buy a separate entry if you would like a medal and a recorded time for yourself.

  • Why can't I select my club name from a drop down list on the entry form?

    Try typing in the first 3 or 4 letters of your club name and wait a few seconds, a drop down list should then appear for you to select from. If your club still isn't listed, please let us know here.

  • I am on the entry list but why don't I have a race number or age category?

    These may not show immediately but will appear within a few hours of your entry being placed. The system updates itself periodically, which is when the race numbers and age categories are assigned.
